Healthy Cake Icing


An Angel Food cake with fat free and sugar free creamy strawberry filling plus topped with cherries. A great alternative icing for guilt free desserts.


  • 1 angel food cake (I use Betty Crocker white angel food cake box)
  • 1 tbls sugar free strawberry or chocolate syrup (Hershey’s makes a great one) Use 2 tbls if frosting the top of a cake
  • 2 oz Fat Free cream cheese


  • Bake your angel food cake according to package directions
  • In a small handy chopper or small food processor add syrup
  • Add cream cheese
  • Blend until smooth and creamy
  • When cake is cool, slice off top half and remove it
  • Spread cream cheese / syrup mixture on bottom half
  • Replace top half on top of filling
  • Top with “no sugar added cherrie pie filling”
  • Serve with fat free whipped topping if desired
